Michael J. Galvin, 58, of Sayreville died on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City he lived in Carteret before settling in Sayreville. He was previously employed by Brighton Best International, Sayreville. He was well known as DJ Mike G., especially for Trivia and Bingo at Dowling’s Irish Pub and Restaurant in Roselle Park and Union Beach. A member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5088, Avenel he was also a member of the Carteret Elks Lodge 2235. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Las Vegas Knights.
Son of James Galvin and the late Olga “Ducky” Betsos Galvin he is also survived by his wife Frances Farese Galvin; his son Michael G. Galvin; his daughter Nicole Galvin; his grandson Kayden Rucker; his mother-in-law Alice Lang; his brothers-in-law Gabriel Farese and his wife Tracy and Nicholas Farese and his wife Courtney; his dog Babe and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 10am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family R.C. Church, Union Beach. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 9pm.
