Michael P. McArdle, 80, of Parlin died on Saturday July 9, 2022 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Manhattan he lived in the Bronx and Brooklyn before settling in Parlin. Before retiring he was employed by AT&T Overseas Communication, Basking Ridge and Ameristeel Security where he was known as “Captain Mike”. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War he was a member of St. Bernadette R.C. Church, Parlin.
Son of the late John and Mary Herrity McArdle he is also predeceased by his sisters Margaret Mary O’Connor and Elizabeth Whalen. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Gloria Lukach McArdle; his son Michael McArdle; his daughters and sons-in-law Maureen and Robert Herndon and Lisa and David Leon; his brother and sister-in-law John and Jeanette McArdle; his sister Anne McNamee; his grandchildren Ashley, Alexa, Danny, Nicholas, Kayla, Michael, Matthew and Christopher and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 15, 2022 at 8:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church. Interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Tunnel To Towers Foundation.
