Michael Patrick Reilly

Michael Patrick Reilly, 68, of South Amboy died on Sunday January 12, 2025 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in South Amboy he lived there all his life. Before retiring he was employed for 39 years by E.I. DuPont, Parlin. A member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Parlin he was also a member of the South Amboy Ancient Order of Hibernians, Historical Society, Historical Preservation and Youth Athletic Association. Mike was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New Jersey Devils and Notre Dame football. He was active in South Amboy Rec as a girls’ softball coach, manager and umpire. Mike loved trivia, walking, history, reading, flea markets and had a great sense of humor. He was exceptionally proud to be honored as Irishman of the Year in 2023.

Son of the late Charles J. and Claire Stores Reilly he is survived by his wife Sandra Schall Reilly; his daughters Amy Reilly and her fiancé Edward Timmons and Vicky Reilly; his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Monika Reilly; several nieces and nephews and furry friends and family pets.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 17, 2025 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am service at Messiah Lutheran Church, Parlin. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sammy’s Hope, 1400 Main Street, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
