Nancy Charmello Starzynski Obituary

Nancy Angelina Charmello Starzynski, 99, of South Amboy Died on Monday November 11, 2019 at the Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. Born in South Amboy she met her late husband Chester “Slick” while they were both in their late teens and were married in 1945 right after Slick returned from his tour in England during World War II. She later moved to Cheesequake Village and then to the Venetian. She was a graduate of St. Mary Grammar and High Schools, South Amboy and was immensely proud of her Italian heritage. She was a devout member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy. Nancy was very proud of her career in banquet waitressing around Middlesex County. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed Sunday drives with her husband and family, frequenting Atlantic City. Nancy has left everyone she knew with fond memories of her generosity and her fun spirit. Special thanks to the Venetian Care Center for the blessing of the special care she received in her later years. We are forever grateful for their thoughtfulness and attention.

Daughter of the late Nicholas and Angelina Charmello she is also predeceased by her husband Chester J. Starzynski in 2000; her brothers Mayor Joseph Charmello and Anthony Charmello and her sisters Elizabeth Sutherland, Josephine Charmello and Rose McNamara. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law John and Mary Starzynski of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Jim and Suzanne Starzynski of Holmdel: her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Kevin Urban of Matawan; her grandchildren Jay Starzynski and his wife Amber of Denver, Colorado, Jill Couch and her husband Robert of Celebration, Florida, Jessica Urban and her husband Michael Irwin of Old Bridge and Kevin Urban, Jr. and his wife Karen of Union City; her great-grandchildren Mary Madison, Robert, Jr. and Macy Couch and many nieces and nephews.
