Philip F. De Fort, Jr.

Philip F. De Fort, Jr., 78 of South Amboy, died Sunday June 15, 2025 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  Born in South Amboy he was a life-long resident. Philip was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Progressive Firehouse and a past president with the South Amboy First Aid Squad. He enjoyed family vacations to Walt Disney World and camping all over the East coast.

Son of the late Philip F. and Olivia Nelson De Fort, Sr., he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Elaine Read De Fort, his son, Philip F. De Fort III and his wife Allison, his daughters and sons in law, Cynthia and David Gallagher and Bridget and Christopher Mader, 6 grandchildren, Philip F. De Fort, IV, Jordan Kate Gallagher, Brodie F. Gallagher, Gianna D. De Fort, Samantha Jean Mader and Zoey Rose Mader.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 10AM at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
