Phillip David Elyea, 58, of Baton Rouge Louisiana died on Sunday May 10, 2026. Born in Red Bank he grew up in South Amboy before moving to North Carolina in 2004, where he owned the Plymouth Bakery Café. He moved to Florida in 2016 and recently relocated to Louisiana. He loved the beach and was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Baton Rouge.
Son of the late Gweneth Elyea he is also predeceased by his nephew Michael Kosanovich. He is survived by his father Kenneth Elyea and his wife Joyce; his brother Michael Elyea and his wife Andrea; his sister Joyce Kosanovich; several nieces and nephews and his dear friends Luis Oliveria and Terri Jakubowski.
Cremation was private. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2026 at 5:30pm during visitation from 4 to 6pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Food Pantry, 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
