Randolph “Bob” Stover, 100, of Bardstown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday March 26, 2022 at Springfield Nursing and Rehab. He was born December 10, 1921 in Winder, Georgia, retired from Jersey Central Power and Light with 31 years of service, was a United States Navy Veteran during WWII and served from 1939-1948 as a Chief Torpedoman. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus, member of American Legion Post 42, VFW, and St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy. He was an avid bird watcher, loved fishing, and his walks in the woods.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sheila Boyle Stover and two brothers, Robert Stover, and Wyley Stover.
He is survived by his three children, John Stover and his wife Judy of Bardstown, Kentucky, Maureen McReynolds and her husband George of Gordonsville, Virginia, and Kevin Stover of Old Bridge; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8pm.
