Raymond M. Sexton, Jr., 84, of South Amboy passed away on Thursday December 24, 2020. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, he lived in Chatham before moving to Parlin. He attended St. Peters High School in Staten Island, and was a graduate of Seton Hall University. Before retiring he was employed as a municipal bond broker for over 30 years with Bache & Co., Harry Downs & Co., and Ryan Beck & Co. He was the previous owner of The Corkscrew in Warren and was involved with Little League in both Bayonne and Chatham, as well as the PAL in Bayonne. Raymond served on the Bayonne Board of Education, was an avid NY Giants fan, and was a parishioner of St Andrew Parish in Bayonne and Corpus Christi in Chatham.
Son of the late Raymond M., Sr. and Margaret “Peg” Bonner Sexton, he is survived by his wife Mary; his children Kathleen Patterson and her husband Edgar; Janet Cobourn and her husband Steven; Kevin Sexton; James Sexton and his wife Kimberli; Raymond Sexton, III; and Laura Sexton. He is also survived by his brother Thomas and his wife Denice and many nieces and nephews. Raymond’s five grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan, Collin, Raymond, and Kelsey will miss their loving Poppop. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert and his sister Patricia.
A service for Raymond will be held on a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Surfer’s Healing via the organization’s website. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy.
