Regina Puccio, 88, of South Amboy, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025.
Born and raised in New Brunswick, Regina attended St. Peter’s School, where she made lifelong friends. She was a proud resident of South Amboy for 62 years, where she and her husband, Frank, built a warm and welcoming home together. After Frank’s passing in 2011, she was known as the “General” of her family. Regina loved bringing people together—whether for family picnics, gatherings with friends, or her famous big Sunday dinners. A true foodie, she found joy in cooking, sharing meals, and creating memories around the table.
A woman of strong faith, Regina was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered with the Food Pantry. She was deeply committed to helping others and living her faith through service and kindness.
Regina enjoyed playing Bocce, bowling and working out at Curves throughout much of her adult life, always valuing friendship, health, and community. She cherished time spent with her family—especially her grandchildren and, most recently, her great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
She will be remembered for her faith, her strength, her love of good food, and the warmth she shared so freely with everyone around her.
Daughter of the late Nicholas and Frances Georgiana Paone, she is also predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Frank A. Puccio, her brother Anthony Paone and her son-in-law Robert Allen.
Survived by her children Mary Frances & Bill Tucka, Annette Allen, Joe and Claudia Puccio, Celeste Troisfontaines, and Nadine Puccio. “Nonna” cherished her grandchildren Joseph, Mark & his wife Shauna and Stephanie Puccio, Nicole & her husband RJ McPartland, David & his wife Alyssa Tucka, Danielle & her husband Dan Czarny, Nicholas & Christopher Benson, Jake & fiancé MacKenzie, and Luke Allen, as well as her great-grandchildren Caden, Emma, Wade, and Miranda, who lovingly referred to her as “Gigi Nonna”.
She is also survived by her siblings, Sister Catherine Paone, Marlene and her husband Lynn Nellenbach, her sister-in-law Barbara Paone and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 24, 2025 at 10am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church.
