Renata Daniela Was Nebus

Renata Daniela (Was) Nebus, 57, of South Amboy, passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her side on January 23, 2023 at RWJ hospital. Born in Poland, she moved to South Amboy with her family in 1981 to begin her new life in America. She attended Hoffman High School and was a member of Sacred Heart R C Church.  Renata worked for many years at the Head Hunter Hair Salon. Later she worked at the Polish Market on Feltus Street. 

In 1984 met her future husband, Bob, and married in 1993. Her pride and joy was her son Bobby, watching him grow and fulfill his goal of graduating college and beginning his career as a nurse. 

Renata was a loving and outgoing person who welcomed everyone with open arms.  She always left a lasting impression with her bubbly personality.  Renata was loved by all who knew her. Always the fun aunt and second mom to all the kids on Elm Street. Renata loved cruises with her family and summers on the beach at Seaside Heights. 

Renata was predeceased by her mother, Maria Was and her sister Margaret. She is survived by her husband Bob Nebus of South Amboy, Son Bobby Nebus of Tampa, Florida, father Jan Was of South Amboy, sisters Agnes and Bob Krimin, Aneta and Sean Downs, brothers Artur and Kathy Was, and Rafael Was all of South Amboy, sister Klaudia and Kenny Swanson of Old Bridge, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 3pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
