Richard Jepsen, 92, of Laurence Harbor died on Thursday April 15, 2021 at home. Born in Perth Amboy he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Before retiring in 1993 he was employed by the Old Bridge Township Sewage Authority. A member of the American Legion Post 211, Sayreville he was also a member of the drum corps. An amazing and proud father, he was the favorite uncle and grandpa, was known for his sense of humor and enjoyed traveling in his motor home.
Son of the late John, Sr. and Harriet “Cassie” Mitchell Jepsen he is also predeceased by his siblings John Jepsen, Jr., Harriet Pesetsky, Geraldine Tabaczinski and Winifred Bacsu. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Phyllis Christensen Jepsen; his sons Gary Jepsen and his wife Beth of Loris, South Carolina and Dennis Jepsen and his wife Cathy of Rochester, New Hampshire; his daughter Lori Stefanski of Laurence Harbor; his grandchildren Erin, Shon and Amy Jepsen and Brandon and Justin Stefanski; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 22, 2021 at 10am at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by interment in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm.
