Richard Orban Obituary

Richard S. Orban, 84, of Laurence Harbor died on Sunday April 6, 2025 at Complete Care at Madison. Born in Lackawanna, New York he grew up in Elizabeth before settling in Laurence Harbor. A member of St. Lawrence R.C. Church, Laurence Harbor, he was also a member of the Keyport Elks Lodge and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved watching and playing golf, working in his garden, he was very proud of his homemade model railway and train collection, he enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and was an avid fan of the New York Giants.

Son of the late Sophia A. Stomski he is also predeceased by his son Larry Rand; his son-in-law Keith Reitler and his dog Misty. He is survived by his loving wife Judith Ratchford Orban; his daughters Debbie O’Connor and her husband Bob, Patti Reitler and Terri Orban-Mocik and her significant other Mark Kocsis; his grandchildren Eric, Matthew, Christopher, Michael, Emily, Zachary and Justin and his beloved dog Rocky.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Church. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, Jamesburg. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Lawrence Church or The Laurence Harbor First Aid Squad.
