Robert E. Elitchko, Sr., 76, of Laurence Harbor died peacefully on Tuesday August 23, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn he lived in Sayreville before moving to Laurence Harbor. He was known as a hard worker and was employed by the Sayreville Board of Education for 40 years. An avid fan of the New York Yankees he enjoyed working on cars and loved his family more than anything else.
Son of the late Michael and Helen Urban Elitchko he is also predeceased by his wife Beverly Zebrowski Elitchko in 2008 and his son Robert E. Elitchko, Jr. in 2014. He is survived by his son Todd Elitchko and his wife Sherry; his daughters Desiree Kazar and her husband Alan, Sr., Lisa Spingarn and her husband Scott and Michele Elitchko and his grandchildren Maxxine Kraemer, Dennis Griggs, Jr., Nicole Kazar, Alan Kazar, Jr., Scott Spingarn, Jr., Zachary Spingarn, Kaitlyn Spingarn and Kimberly Elitchko.
Visitation will be on Monday August 29, 2022 from 7 to 9pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
