Robert M. Rathbun, Jr.

Robert M. Rathbun, Jr., 47, of Rahway died on Monday March 16, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway. Born in New Brunswick he grew up in the Morgan section of Sayreville before settling in Rahway.

He is predeceased by his father Robert M. Rathbun, Sr.; his grandparents Wallace and Clare Rathbun and Raymond and Margaret Sawicz; his sister Jennifer Rathbun and his niece Nicole Kuzma. He is survived by his mother Ann Marie Sawicz McCaffrey; his sister Kimberly Kuzma; his patient, loving and caring partner of 25 years Merry Nittoli; his nephew Richard Kuzma, III; his niece Bianca Petersen; his beloved dog Rosco and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Cremation was private. Memorial visitation will be on Monday March 23, 2026 from 5 to 7pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children (BIC).
