Ruben Martinez, Sr.

Ruben Martinez, Sr., 63, of South Amboy died on Monday May 23, 2022 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Jersey City he was employed by the Grand Marquis, Old Bridge until retiring. An amazing grandfather, he had a heart of gold and worked hard to give everything to his family. He enjoyed singing “La Bamba”, playing dominos and watching old western movies.

Son of the late Maria Gonzalez Martinez he is survived by his wife of 40 years Helen Spath Martinez; his daughters and sons-in-law Crystal and Carlos Cornish and Nina and Farex Salvent; his son and daughter-in-law Ruben, Jr. and Caitlyn Martinez; his father Juan Martinez; his brothers Johnny, Dean, Edwin, and Anthony Martinez; his sister Jean Martinez; his grandchildren Bryonna, Kayla, Jacob, Leland, Autumn and Conor and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation was private under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy.
