Samuel J. Padgett, 90, of South Amboy died on Saturday April 24, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge, NJ. Born in Coffee, GA Samuel lived in various places. He joined the US Army serving in the Korean War. After 4 years, he attended junior college in Daytona Beach. While in school he met and married his beloved Serafina. He then served in the US Navy, and returned to Daytona Beach to raise his family. He was employed by TWA working at Cape Canaveral. Later he transferred to New York where he resided with his family in Perth Amboy, NJ. Retiring from both TWA and the US Navy as Chief Petty Officer, he then returned to Daytona Beach. His final years were spent with his wife and family in NJ. He loved driving his Harley motorcycle, and spending his days at the beach.
Son of the late Samuel Jenkins and Mollie Boatright Padgett he is also predeceased by his son Samuel J. Padgett, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Serafina Guzman Padgett; his daughters Mary Savage and her husband Blaine of Georgia, Edna Mae Conyer of Virginia, Susan Nomikos of New Jersey, Debra Guiliano and her husband Steven Olsen of New Jersey and Daisy Muniz and her husband Jose of Georgia; his 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at 7:30pm at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8pm.
