An avid reader, Susan spent her later years working at Barnes & Noble. She took great joy in discovering new books and gifting them to friends and family. She deeply appreciated art and nature, often finding beauty and peace through her daily walks in Cheesequake State Park. Susan was a devoted Catholic and longtime member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She lived modestly, always seeking to help those less fortunate and care for those in need. Susan delighted in spending time with her young nieces and nephews and, more recently, with their children. Whether it was proudly attending sports or school programs, tossing a ball in the yard, or engaging in a game of chess, Susan was a constant source of comfort and joy in their lives. A proud grand-aunt, Susan held her family dear and especially enjoyed spending time with her many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Hoffman (2009), Frances Hoffman Desmond (2008), Christine Hoffman Watt (2023), and her niece Fern Desmond (2017).
