Theresa McLaughlin Jancola

Catherine Theresa Leonard McLaughlin Jancola, 95, of South Amboy died on Sunday January 24, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in South Amboy she lived there all her life. Before retiring she was employed for 35 years by NJ Bell. A member, lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy, she was active with St. Mary’s School Caring Listeners. She was also a member of the Pioneers of Bell Telephone Company.

Daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Harvey Leonard she is also predeceased by her first husband Harold W. McLaughlin in 1972; her second husband Peter E. Jancola in 2005; her son Harold W. “Mac” McLaughlin in 2011; her siblings John and Joseph Leonard, Mildred Lutz, Leona Jankowski and MaryLou Peterson and her stepson Peter J. Jancola. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Nancy McLaughlin; her grandchildren Brian and his wife Amy and Kate; her great-grandchildren Stephen, Alison, Sarah and Cassidy; her stepchildren Thomas M., John and Joseph Jancola, Sr. Dorothy Jancola, RSM, Patricia Albany, Barbara Wyatt and Mary Jane Beebe and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 10:45am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by an 11:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning only from 9:30 to 10:45.
