Thomas N. Kvist, Jr.

Thomas N. Kvist, Jr., 96, of South Amboy died on Wednesday November 9, 2022 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in South Amboy he lived there all his life. A U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, he was employed by FMC Corporation before retiring. A very involved and active member of Christ Episcopal Church, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Vestry. Additionally, he was a patient advocate at JFK Hospital and provided spiritual support and visitations for the incarcerated. He was a talented musician his entire life and was a union drummer, enjoying playing and teaching.

Son of the late Thomas N., Sr. and Hilda Madura Letts Kvist, he is also predeceased by his wife Ruth M. Kurowsky Kvist in 2006; his grandson Michael; his great-granddaughter Morgan and his son-in-law Gerald. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Kurt N. and Toni Kvist; his daughter Lynn J. Trapp; his grandchildren Matthew, Meghann, Krista and her husband George and Taylor and his wife Ashley; his great-grandchildren Ryan, Joshua, Brandon, Connor, Savannah, Madelynn and Everleigh and his great-great-grandchildren Kinsley, Madilyn and Rosalyn.

Relatives and friends may gather beginning at 9am at Christ Episcopal Church, 220 Main Street, South Amboy on Saturday November 19, 2022 for a 10am Requiem Eucharist. Cremation and interment in Christ Church Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy in the name of Thomas N. Kvist.
