Veronica A. “Ronnie” Manhattan Steiner, 77, of Morgan died on Sunday August 25, 2024 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in South Amboy she lived there all her life. Before retiring in 2018 she was employed by the Manalapan Englishtown School District for 55 years. A 1965 graduate of St. Mary’s High School she was a parishioner and Extraordinary Minister at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy and has been an active and dedicated member of the South Amboy First Aid since joining in 1981. She was also a member of the Our Lady of Victories Columbiettes. Ronnie was a representative of EMS Council of NJ District 14 for 17 years and served as an instructor for the American Red Cross. She received her Library Degree from Kean College and her Masters Degree from Rutgers University.
Daughter of the late James and Veronica Stefanski Manhattan she is survived by her husband of 40 years Lee Steiner; her sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Joe Halmi of Morgan; her nieces Susan Reistrom and her husband Erik and Cathy Smith and her wife Amy; her nephew Joe Halmi and his wife Rikki and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad.
