Virginia K. McDonnell Miller, 95, of South Amboy died on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at home. Born in South Amboy she lived there all her life. Before retiring she was employed by Dr. Haque’s office. A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, South Amboy she was also a member of the South Amboy Senior Citizens and was known for walking around town to church and local stores. She enjoyed stopping to talk with everyone around town, cooking and entertaining and spending summers at her home in Long Beach Island.
Daughter of the late James and Helen Gelsinon McDonnell she is also predeceased by her husband of 58 years John F. “Bing” Miller in 2005 and her brother James McDonnell. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John F., IV and Lori Miller; her daughters and sons-in-law Georgia and Kenneth Scott and Jackie and Robert Mancini; her grandchildren Eric, Lori, Ashley, Ryan, Paulina, and John F., V and her great grandchildren Liam Scott, Ellie Berwick and Oscar Duenas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday November 7, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, 256 Augusta Street, South Amboy. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Food Pantry and mailed to the church.
