Wallace "Brud" Jacobus, Sr., 87, of Laurence Harbor died peacefully Monday Jan 20 2025 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey city he lived in Laurence Harbor for the last 83 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard. He retired from the township of Old Bridge Public works dept after 49 years. He was a life member of the Laurence Harbor Fire Dept, and proudly served his Community for 65 years. He was also a life member of the NJ State exempt fireman's Association. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Uncle and Friend.
Son of the late Grace Stephens Jacobus and Samual Jacobus. He is also predeceased by his Brother and Partner in crime John "Jack" Jacobus, his sisters Grace Bohme and Marie Craig, all from Laurence Harbor. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Helen Goble Jacobus, son Wallace "Wally" Jacobus Jr. and his partner Karen Ferrier of Brick, daughter Cheryl Jacobus and her husband Mark Harris of Morgan as well as many nieces and nephews.
His infectious smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Brud died as he lived everyone's friend!
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 23, 2025 from 4 to 8pm at The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Laurence Harbor Fire Department.
