William Francis Flannery, Jr., “Sweet Will”, 73, of South Amboy died peacefully on Tuesday September 17, 2024 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Orange he grew up in Parlin and graduated in 1969 from Sayreville War Memorial High School. He later moved to South Amboy and was previously employed by Steamfitters Local 475. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, gardening, cooking and watching cooking shows and riding his motorcycle. Bill had a knack for making friends and bringing them home for a meal and a place to lay their heads for the night.
Son of the late William, Sr. and Ann Cybuliak Flannery he is survived by his children Kelly and Ryan Flannery; his sister Sharon Flannery; his nephew Brian Nowicki and his niece Brittany Nowicki and many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday September 25, 2024 at 6:30pm at The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy. Cremation was private. Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Folds of Honor https://secure.foldsofhonor.org/site/
